Where did you grow up? Outside a small town in Ontario, Canada called Snelgrove on a farm.
When did you become a member of Mi5 Fitness? I found Mi5 in November 2018, and became a full time member when I moved here in May 2019
What do you do when you are not at Mi5? I love to cook different types of foods. My dog Kajun is pretty active so we are usually out for a hike at one of the local dog parks.
How did you find out about Mi5? I saw the gym from the highway, and thought about giving it a go. At that time, it was also across the road from where I was going to be living.
When/How did you realize CrossFit/Mi5 was the right fit for you? I walked into Mi5, and ended up talking to Andrew for about an hour. Not once did he boast how much better Mi5 was, or how bad other gyms were. That hooked me, and that is when I knew it was the place for me.
What is your favorite WOD/movement? Power Cleans.
What is your least favorite WOD/movement? Burpees!!!! Really self explanatory actually
What would your perfect WOD look like? All barbell work, no cardio!!!!! 10 rounds of Bear Complex ( 10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1). I also like Linda
What motivates you to stay fit? I enjoy the feeling of grinding out a hard workout and finishing it with the members of Mi5. It is a great feeling. I also have boys who eventually have their own families, and I want to be involved in their lives. And hopefully if luck will have it, great grandkids as well.
What is something about you that Mi5 members do not yet know? I played rugby for 28 years without breaking any bones or sustaining any serious injuries.
What advice would you give to someone just getting started at Mi5? You will never be alone in your fitness journey at Mi5. You either succeed and celebrate, or you learn. There is no failure.
