Where did you grow up?

When did you become a member of Mi5 Fitness? 
April 2018

What do you do when you are not at Mi5? 
I have been blessed to teach preschool  (4's turning 5) for 17 years at Grace church in Eden Prairie, Monday though Wednesday mornings.  I also work from home for a software company called Infor in sales operations and they have been gracious with my schedule to encourage my passion for teaching.  I love taking the dogs to the dog park or on a walk with Jeff  and spending time with family and friends laughing and eating.  

How did you find out about Mi5? 
The CrossFit gym we were members at closed and Mi5 offered the members a trial week.

When/How did you realize CrossFit/Mi5 was the right fit for you? 
Jeff was doing CrossFit for a few months and asked Abbey and I to join him.  I was not interested and very intimidated but Abbey was home from college for the summer so I decided I would do it with them for three months and then be done.  I liked the feeling of accomplishment when we finished a workout more than the fear of not knowing what I was doing or going to have to try to do.  When we moved to Mi5 we knew right away that we liked the classes offered and times but more than that the coaches and members were so welcoming, friendly and helpful that we felt comfortable quickly.

What is your favorite WOD/movement?

I like rowing, wall balls and bench press.

What is your least favorite WOD/movement? 
Burpees and running.

What would your perfect WOD look like? 
I like partner workouts that include multiple movements.

What is one thing you have been able to accomplish since starting at Mi5 that you never thought you'd be able to do? 
I was very excited to do a rope climb!

What motivates you to stay fit? 
My family and future grand-babies :) I like how it feels to work hard and push myself.  

What is something about you that Mi5 members do not yet know? 
I used to think I was not a dog person, I was wrong!

What advice would you give to someone just getting started at Mi5? 
To keep coming and not to worry if you know exactly what you're doing.  The coaches will help you and scale to your ability level.  Find a friend or family member to join you for accountability and fun.

Realtor, golf, Run my 2 dogs (English Setters) Movies          

How did you find out about Mi5?
Our previous gym closed and the owner recommended Mi5 to us.

When/How did you realize CrossFit/Mi5 was the right fit for you?
As soon as we walked in we were welcomed by the staff & community. It was an easy decision!

What is your favorite WOD/movement? 
I don’t know if I have a favorite, but I like squatting

What is your least favorite WOD/movement?
Anything to do with that Assault Bike           

What would your perfect WOD look like?
Some type of chipper. Burpees, pullups , squats(?)

What is one thing you have been able to accomplish since starting at Mi5 that you never thought you'd be able to do?
Legless rope climb, toes to bar & HSPU

What motivates you to stay fit?
Both the physical and mental benefits are a huge reason to me. I generally go to one of the morning classes & it helps set the mood for the day. I can totally feel a difference if I have missed/skipped more than a day or two. Also, coming to Mi5 is something my wife and I can do together.

What is something about you that Mi5 members do not yet know?
I have never lost a game of

What advice would you give to someone just getting started at Mi5?
Stick with it! Don’t get intimidated by any class. The coaches will give you modified movements based on your ability level….You have to give it 3 months minimum before you know if it’s right for you or not. ​
