Emily WindschillName: Emily Windschill
Age: I'll be 28 on May 2nd! Where did you grow up? St. James, Minnesota When did you become a member of Mi5 Fitness? I think October/November, but I have been coming consistently for the past 2 months. What do you do when you are not at Mi5? (occupation, hobbies, etc.) I work for Memorial Blood Centers as a phlebotomist. I love spending time with my family and friends, I have 6 nieces and 5 nephews so I see them as much as possible. I also love going back home to be on the lake where my parents live, I will be there A LOT during the summer! How did you find out about Mi5? I found out about Mi5 from driving by on 35 and seeing the sign. I wanted to try something different than the standard gym (they have never worked for me). Walking in to Mi5 was the best thing I've done for myself! I am addicted! :) When/how did you realize CrossFit/Mi5 Fitness was the right fit for you? Probably after my 1st or 2nd time doing a boot camp class. I got my butt kicked, but it was awesome! The trainers, members, workouts and atmosphere are just so awesome! What is your favorite WOD/movement? Wall balls What is your least favorite WOD/movement? BURPEES!! its a love/hate feeling. What would your perfect WOD/workout look like? Oh boy... Probably any of the Bootcamp strength day workouts. What is one thing you have been able to accomplish since starting at Mi5 that you never thought you'd be able to do? Definitely more than 1 thing! BB push pressing 55lbs, deadlifting 115lbs, box jumps on the bigger boxes, jumping pull-ups (working to be able to do regular pull-ups!), ring holds. What motivates you to stay fit? Seeing the results of working hard and eating right! Wanting to feel good, to feel good about myself, have confidence with myself, pushing myself a little more each day. The amazing atmosphere, trainers and members at Mi5!! I also like proving the doubters/negative people wrong.. :) What is something about you that Mi5 members do not yet know? Mi5 is my happy place, and where I can get my "me time." Coming to Mi5 almost everyday the last 2 months has helped me more than anything to get through a rough patch in life. The trainers, members, pushing myself and focusing on me is what has gotten me through it! I have learned to turn my "I can'ts" into "I can. And I will." In fact, in the past 6 weeks, I have lost 10.8 lbs, 40 mm of fat, 8.6 inches, and 4.75% body fat. I can't wait to keep going! :) What advice would you give to someone just getting started at Mi5? Keep going! DON'T give up! Just work hard and you will reach your goals.
