AboutI found yoga at 22- fresh out of college and four years removed from spinal surgery, I stepped into my first class and I was hooked. I’d always been flexible thanks to a few years in gymnastics as a kid, but I gained some weight after my spinal surgery and had lost some of that flexibility as I became more sedentary. Class by class, flexibility returned, and soon I found myself trying (and failing) at things I had never thought possible- I still vividly remember the high I felt the first time I caught a few breaths in crow pose!
After practicing for about ten years, I completed my 200-hour certification through Life Time Fitness in December 2014. Since completing my certification, I have logged more than 400 hours guiding students through classes and workshops. My passion for teaching lies in vinyasa flow classes (the warmer the better!) and I love to give my students time during each flow to make the sequence their own. I also have a deep love for yin yoga, both as a student and as a teacher. Vinyasa and yin balance each other out like yin and yang- challenge your limits in a vinyasa class, and then ease back and relax in a yin class. Outside of yoga, I love to travel and am constantly searching for my next adventure! I took a trip to Egypt in the fall, and am heading to Madrid in November! I love to be outside (except for winter- thanks, but I’ll pass) and try to get on my paddle board as often as possible. I’m a big book nerd- I’m constantly reading just about anything I can get my hands on. And I really love dark chocolate! |
